There is something unknown and needs further exploration by showing the presence of a person without showing any of it at all. In my pastel days I used to feature many empty chairs and that's something I also need to explore further

The last leg of the Rolex Middle Sea Race passes under ta' Cenc cliffs at Gozo's south west coast. Here the last duels between yachts play out just before the finish. oil on canvas

Somewhere along the coast - oil on canvas - finally finished this pieces that needed some layer work to make the shallows (called glazed). I love to add a human element, but not too much. My work is a dream of how I would like to see life - a reverie. I eliminate competition for the viewer and invite him or her to own the place unimpeded.

This piece has something of a story going on... Here is part of it... It features our most majestic modernist monument (IMO) and two persons that cannot connect in person as they are engrossed facing their mobile phone screens. Who knows how this goes on?

a windsurfer sailing slowly in a calm shimmering sea. The air is hazy and the atmosphere has a deep sunset bronze setting

inspired from a recent visit to Villa Bologna , thanks to Jeni Caruana and the rest of the artist friends. We went there under powerful artificial lights , only to loose the electric illumination prematurely. However we soldered on in the available star light. This canvas is a studio rendering made from reference images I snapped there, a sketch I drew on location, and, most importantly, the fresh memories of the place.
